Periodontal regeneration
In some patients with periodontal lesions with vertical or circumferential bone defects a regenerative periodontal treatment can be undertaken.
The objective of this treatment, in addition to eradicating the infection is to regenerate part of the support bone of the tooth lost through the infection, and thereby improve the prognosis or the duration of the tooth in the long term.
It is a complicated technique and its success depends to a large degree on the experience and the skill of the surgeon. Dr. David González has extensive experience in this field at a national level.
